Is College A Waste of Time and Money?

In my vlogs, I definitely tend to glorify college and make it seem like it's the most wonderful place on the planet, which frankly, sometimes it is... BUT on today's show, Jackson and I completely roast college and basically show you that it's completely pointless. It is fun though. Really fun. So enjoy :)

Thoughts I'd like to add:

College is definitely necessary for those interested in becoming a lawyer or Doctor, and Jackson and I would both agree that it's an effective system for garnering capable workers within those respective fields. However, I would argue that the majority of career path options–from film production, to art or acting, business, PR, journalism, etc.– are better learned through experience than fake class room education. A good example of this is my experience with learning languages.

In high school, I took 6 years of Spanish, finishing the AP course my senior year. However, even after 6 years of tests and quizzes, I was yet to be fluent in the language. After I graduated however, my parents took me to Barcelona, and through this immersive experience, I learned more in 10 days than I did in 6 years of formal class room lectures!!!

I also visited Israel in January of 2016 for 12 days, and by the end of the trip, I was able to hold a simple conversation... Something that took me 3 or 4 years to 'learn' in Spanish classes. 😶

Now if you follow me across any social media platform, you know I'm very forward about the fact that I am a bit of a book nerd. This is, I promise you, not a pretentious act, but a constant reminder to everyone that follows me how much I believe that self education is the best and perhaps the only way to truly arm yourself for success in life.
