What Is Love?

What Is Love?

by Arlin Moore

Hey guys! Welcome to The 8AM Podcast Volume 001!!! We are super excited to be bringing you this weekly or perhaps bi-weekly podcast. On this podcast, you will hear college perspectives on topics varying from esoteric philosophy, to drunk college stories, and everything in between!

In this first episode, Jackson and I have our good friend Clare on the show to discuss the timely topic of LOVE on this fine Valentine's day.

This conversation gets intense! We hope you enjoy :)

Love,

- Arlin

PS: Keep the conversation going! We want to hear your opinions, so please leave comments below!!!

  • This was a really interesting conversation! I personally agree with Clare and Jackson in that moving to Beijing for your significant other would be the ultimate sacrifice, especially because every decision we make has a sacrifice / opportunity cost. While the decisions could be as little as deciding between cereal and eggs, you lose the benefits of one when you decide to go with the other (definition of sacrifice). I also totally agree with Clare’s take on feminism. It is important to note that we don’t know what everyone is going through, but at the same time, some people may use feminism as a means of villainizing men unnecessarily. Trying to relate a widely accepted common curtesy, to questioning a woman’s ability to do things on her own, is a really extreme stretch. It is unfortunate that some movements that were originally intended to bring people closer together, have unintentionally lead to further polarization. Looking forward to hearing more!

  • First off i wanna day how proud of you I am Arlin! this is one of the most unique things i’ve seen a youtuber do and i absolutely love it. Love what you do with your channel! very talented! About love… I just recently got out of a serious relationship and I’ve learned more about life and myself that I ever have. Love is a very powerful thing. Can make us feel a million different ways. One thing that will always bother me is when (usually females) say after they get their heart broken “boys suck” “all boys are assholes” because they are not. Love is an expierment kind of. You have to go through many obstacles and trials to find the right one. Any girls reading this comment and listening to the podcast and you are going through a tough time with a break up or heart break. it does get better. you will find the one. It will get better I promise! When you don’t look for love, love comes to you. :) really enjoyed listening to this Arlin! ❤️

  • I watch Arlins videos and think they’re amazing and he’s very talented so I hate to say it but All he did throughout the podcast was contradict himself. I understand and value other people’s viewpoints, so it’s not that I wasn’t listening… but the things he said. Clare or Jackson made super great and intelligent points though.

  • The phrase “I hate men” or “all men are disgusting” obviously is very broad and generally but, where it’s coming from is based on bad experiences with men who are disrespectful. The beginning thought isn’t referring to every male. If you are a good person who believes in equality then those phrases are directed towards you. It’s a hyperbole from people who’ve had an overwhelming amount of bad interactions with males. Feminism has a negative connotation aswell. If you believe in equality for all then you are a feminist. What I don’t understand is why people believe in equality but don’t believe in feminism.
